Michael Greifenstein
MTSU President
Michael Greifenstein is the president of Mock Trial at Syracuse University. He is a junior studying Law, Society, and Policy at the Maxwell School and Public Relations at the Newhouse School. Michael began competing in Mock Trial his freshman year, joining to advance his interests in courtroom dynamics and legal studies, leading him to an ultimately more pre-law track than he had anticipated. Outside of MTSU, Michael is a U100 Student Ambassador, providing guided campus tours to prospective students and their families. He is also an individual tutor at the Center for Learning and Student Success, helping students grow and develop in over 20 undergraduate courses. Michael is an avid golfer, sports fan, cook, and enjoys spending time with friends and family.
Russell LaFever
MTSU Vice President
Russell LaFever is a senior from Syracuse, NY, studying History. He joined MTSU in the fall of his freshman year because he was interested in the legal field. His favorite part of Mock Trial is coming up with interesting case theories. Outside of MTSU, Russell enjoys reading books, watching sports, and playing golf and soccer.
Maddie Everett
Treasurer
Maddie is a sophomore from Bowmanstown, PA, studying Political Science & History at SU. She joined MTSU her freshman year because it offered the opportunity to work closely with people who value hard work, dedication, and a passion for law. Her favorite part of Mock Trial is getting to see the team perform at competitions. Outside of Mock Trial, she enjoys reading dystopian novels, learning about history, and crafting different coffee creations.
Sydney Parker
Logistics Coordinator
Sydney Parker is a sophomore political science student from Windsor, CA. She joined MTSU in Fall 2024 to participate in a competitive and intellectually stimulating environment, and her favorite part of Mock Trial is bonding with her teammates at competitions. Outside of Mock Trial, she likes experimenting with fashion and listening to bands like The Beatles, The Smiths, and Radiohead.
Nicole Slade
Public Relations Coordinator
Nicole is a sophomore from Denver, North Carolina, studying Political Science. She joined MTSU because of her passion for law and debate and has been a member of the team since her freshman year. Her favorite part of Mock Trial is working with others who share her enthusiasm for piecing together a case. Outside of Mock Trial, Nicole enjoys writing poetry, baking, and working at the campus library.
