Why join the alumni roster?
As part of our mission to maximize the potential of our student members, SHPE aims to connect our general body with professionals that were once in their shoes. Whether you were a chapter leader or had limited involvement with SHPE during your time at SU, you can be part of a network that guides and supports the future of STEM. Members of our alumni roster participate in Day in the Life events, gain access to our alumni newsletter, and find several opportunities to stay involved with our organization.
What is Day in the Life?
SHPE Day in the Life events are 1 hour long online panels where current students can learn about the academic and professional experiences of our alumni. Each academic year, there is one panel for each specific department:
- Civil and Environment Engineering
- Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering
- Chemical and Biomedical Engineering
- Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Electrical Engineering

What is the SHPE Alumni Newsletter?
Sent once a month, the SHPE Alumni Newsletter is a great way to keep up with what our chapter is doing on campus and upcoming events that we are planning. By joining our list of recipients, alumni can also find opportunities to collaborate with us either virtually or on campus.
